Recalled Product: American Angler PRO EFKs (1 blade, 2 blade and 5 blade models) and American Angler Titanium EFKs sold between January 2019 - October 2021.
Remedy

Remedy: Immediately stop using the product and contact Scott Fetzer Consumer Brands to obtain a free replacement.

What is the reason for the recall?

A: In some units, the trigger mechanism on the Electric Fillet Knife can become stuck in the on position. This has the potential to create a laceration hazard.

Have there been any reported injuries?

A: No injuries have been reported to the Company. The Company is recalling these products out of an abundance of caution.

The model number is printed on the base of the handle of the Electric Fillet Knife.  The serial number and UPC are printed on the packaging of the Electric Fillet Knife.

How do I learn more about the recall?

A: Recall notices are posted on the Consumer Safety Product Commission’s website at www.cpsc.gov and on Scott Fetzer Consumer Brands’ website at www.americananglerusa.com/efkrecall.

What should I do if I have one of the recalled Electric Fillet Knife units?

A: Stop using it immediately, unplug it from the wall, and keep it in a safe place until you contact the Company, at which time you will be instructed either to dispose of it or return it. Call (833) 656-1147 or submit a request online to obtain a free replacement. 

What is the Company doing to correct the problem?

A: The Company will replace any affected unit with a reworked Electric Fillet Knife unit. If your unit is one of those included in the recall, please provide your name, mailing address, phone number, and email address and we will send you a replacement that does not have the issue giving rise to the recall.

 Can I return my Electric Fillet Knife to the store or retail seller where I purchased it?

A: No. Your retail seller is not able to accept returned Electric Fillet Knife units or to provide you with a refund under this recall program.  To obtain a free replacement Electric Fillet Knife, please submit a request online or call (833) 656-1147.

I no longer have a receipt for my Electric Fillet Knife.  Can I still participate in the recall program?

A: Yes. To obtain a replacement for your Electric Fillet Knife, please submit a request online or call (833) 656-1147.

Can I repair my Electric Fillet Knife myself?

A: No. We urge you not to attempt to repair the product yourself.  The Company cannot be responsible for injuries caused by repairs to the product made by you or anyone else.

How long will it take for me to get my replacement Electric Fillet Knife?

A: We will mail your replacement unit within 5-7 business days.
